Position Summary:

Main responsibilities are to ensure the efficient production of product on-time, with high quality and efficient utilization of the work force.  In addition to this, it insures the production process is flowing smoothly to meet the company’s profitability KPI goals.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  • Supervise employees’ daily activities to insure production efficiencies by monitoring, disciplining employees, coaching, counseling, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Supervise employees’ hours to insure minimal or no overtime.
  • Making sure good quality production of products on time.
  • Completes daily production schedules and plans production by assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities, monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains staff and motivates to minimize employee’s absenteeism and turn over.
  • Monitoring the production practices and meeting product quality standards.
  • Ensure the work area and employees are always within safety compliance.
  • Ensures operation of production equipment and tools by practicing and initiating preventive measures and calling out repairs.
  • Working with managers to execute policies and goals of the organization.
  • Maintain good working relationships with other departments within the organization to maximize collaboration communication, and a positive team attitude.
  • Contributes and maintains team effort by accomplishing and praising related results as needed
  • Evaluate existing methods and processes and improve through lean initiatives.
Qualifications, Skills and Education
  • 3+ years of Supervision experience with high volumes in a mid to large size manufacturing company.
  • Lean or Six Sigma training or certification highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in managing a highly motivated workforce. 
  • Previous experience in office seating, Healthcare seating or home furniture seating manufacturing is a plus.
  • Some College or Management certificates are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills; speaking, writing, listening.
  • Articulate and persuasive; can communicate difficult and complex matters in a straightforward, transparent manner.
  • Unquestionable ethics and values.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, detailed planning and project management skills
  • Must work effectively in a fast-moving, stakeholder value focused, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly and think beyond traditional methods to promote continuous improvement.
  • A team orientation will be a valuable addition to a collegial, collaborative environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.  Action bias with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Bilingual / biliterate in English and Spanish preferable.
