      Exemplis is looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our high-growth organization, who will support and participate in the new product introduction (NPI) process while supporting existing products to ensure that supplied material and components meet requirements. As a Senior SQE, you will be responsible for investigating supplier issues in the manufacturing environment, communicating issues to suppliers and working with them on containment, finding the root cause and implementing permanent corrective actions, reviewing all supplier PPAP and sample submissions for accuracy to design record and other specifications, overseeing and improving supplier inspection and quality processes, monitoring and measuring supplier performance, and visiting suppliers as needed to drive solutions and identifying opportunities for improvement.

      Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

      • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring all quality requirements are understood and adhered to
      • Support new product launches to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standards
      • Review products, specifications, and aesthetic requirements for translation into supplier acceptance methods and control plans, including acceptance sampling plans
      • Implement supplier quality metrics to measure and monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement
      • Work with suppliers to investigate and resolve quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions
      • Work with the sourcing team and support the supplier selection and approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and risks
      • Conduct supplier audits to assess supplier quality systems and identify areas for improvement
      • Develop and implement supplier quality agreements and work with suppliers to ensure compliance
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure supplier quality requirements are integrated into product development and changes to current products
      • Provide leadership in identifying and driving supplier quality improvements
      • Develop and deliver training to suppliers on quality systems and requirements
      • Maintain knowledge of industry standards and requirements related to supplier quality
      • Manage supplier non-conformance process and drive timely closure of non-conformances
      • Promote the use of Exemplis preferred techniques for continuous improvements such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
      • Supports essential quality systems similar to ISO/IATF16949, APQP/Control Plan, and PPAP

      Qualifications, Skills and Education

      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field
      • 5+ years of Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) experience or similar Quality role
      • Travel up to 25% (Americas and Europe)

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience in the automotive or similar industry
      • Formal training as a Quality Auditor
      • Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA) awareness or knowledge
      • Working knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Control Plan (CP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
      • Experience with reading CAD drawings, metrology, and Gage R&R
      • Experience in conducting supplier audits and managing supplier corrective actions
      • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills
      • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives
      • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills (TQM/8D/DMAIC)
      • Spanish speaking a plus
      • Six Sigma, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Certification, and/or training
      • Experience with quality software/statistical analysis applications such as Minitab
